We're a team of tech enthusiasts and sustainability advocates on a mission to bring transparency to the US refurbished electronics market — so every American can buy refurb with confidence.
Our Mission
The US refurbished electronics market is worth over $65 billion and growing — but it's also confusing. Dozens of vendors compete for your attention, grading standards vary wildly, and "certified refurbished" can mean anything from factory-restored to simply "not dead." We built RefurbVerify to fix that.
We independently score 100 US vendors across 7 tiers — from Tier 1 mega-marketplaces like Back Market and Amazon Renewed, to Tier 7 enterprise circular economy players — using a transparent, Bayesian-adjusted methodology that rewards genuine quality and penalizes gaming.

Sustainability-first
Buying refurb saves an estimated 55 kg CO₂ per device. We believe the refurb market is one of the most impactful consumer choices Americans can make.
US-focused
We cover vendors operating in the US market — from massive marketplaces to specialist phone refurbishers, camera shops, audio dealers and enterprise ITAD.
What We Score
Our TrustScore is a 0–100 number that combines three components:
50 pts — Review aggregate (Trustpilot weighted 2×, Trustpilot US weighted 1×, both Bayesian-adjusted for sample size). 20 pts — Refurb transparency (grading descriptions, battery health disclosure, warranty and returns). 20 pts — Operations & legitimacy (BBB status, US physical operations, contact info, years in business). Plus a volume bonus of up to +10 pts.
What We Don't Do
No vendor can pay for a ranking or a score change. We may earn a commission from some links on this site, and may enter paid commercial relationships in future — these never affect a TrustScore. We do not endorse any vendor. Our scores are information tools — not purchasing recommendations. Always read the full
