New RRP vs Grade A / B / C refurb prices across popular US models (AUD, incl. GST)
| Device | New RRP | Grade A | Grade B | Grade C | Max Saving |
|---|
Grade A devices have battery health above 85% — most users report this feeling identical to new. Grade C at 75–80% may need replacement within 1–2 years. Factor in a ~$60–90 battery service if buying Grade C.
Under US Consumer Law, refurbished devices must be fit for purpose and of acceptable quality. You're entitled to repair, replacement or refund for faults. Reputable sellers also offer 12-month warranties on top of this.
The best value sweet spot is devices 2–3 generations old. You'll often save 40–55% vs new RRP while still getting an excellent, well-supported device — e.g. iPhone 13 Pro or Samsung S23 Ultra.
Always verify: IMEI clean status, iCloud/Google lock cleared, original US model (check for AU plug support), warranty included, returns policy minimum 30 days, and seller TrustScore on RefurbVerify.
